The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art holds one of the main collections of pre-Columbian art and has a role of first importance in the study, upkeep, and dissemination of this cultural heritage.
When we started working with them, their online presence had grown in layers over the years: the main site, dozens of microsites for past exhibitions, and separate sites for the collection, the audiovisual archive, and publications, built with different technologies and graphic styles.
We supported the museum's internal team in an audit of all its digital properties, and in creating a new main site that is fast, secure, and easy to use and manage.
We carried out an extensive migration of content to the new site and kept the old exhibition microsites as an archive, making sure that thousands of old links, images, PDFs, and downloads kept working.
In parallel we built a new visit booking system that simplifies the work of the education team in its role of ensuring access to the museum's collections for different groups.
We continue working with the museum on its new online projects.
