Changeset is a New York consultancy, founded in 2015 by Sumana Harihareswara, that helps open source projects achieve their goals. Cogito, Ergo Sumana is the founder's blog.
We began with a proposal that covered the whole path: conversations about what the sites were for and who they were for, a review of the possible technologies with their pros and cons, the content architecture, design, development, migration of all existing content with 301 redirects so as not to lose search ranking, and the launch.
Changeset's requirements were very clear: free and open source software, a widely used technology so nobody gets locked in, no third-party trackers, accessibility, free-form tags on everything, RSS by tag, drafts and versions, comments from people without accounts with a spam filter, and speed.
The sites are built with Django and Wagtail. We began development in April 2021 and continue to maintain them.
